For Student Drop Off: Drop off begins no earlier than 5 minutes before Please come around the back of the school (down Trades Lane, take a left at the stop sign/intersection at the end of the road, then proceed to the gated driveway on your left and park in a parking space). Proceed to the overhang/back of the school entrance. *Please wait for a staff member to receive your child; there must be an exchange of responsibility between one adult to another (over 18 years of age), not staff and child. The Learning Connection program provides personalized instruction for students exiting grades 1 through 4, in alignment with Newtown's school-year curriculum. Instruction in the areas of Language Arts (writing, reading, literacy) and Math are planned in accordance with the demonstrated needs of each child in the program. Students exiting grade 1, are also provided with reiteration of the FUNdations curriculum. Certified staff provides additional support to our students and helps bridge the gap between the disruption in learning and the academic standard. Small-group instruction and integrated activities are meshed with peer interaction to achieve an environment that fosters the social and emotional well-being of each child in the program. This program is offered to better meet the learning needs of your child and his/her participation is encouraged.
