2026 SMART Camp Descriptions
SPIKE Innovations(Gr. K-6): Get ready for an exciting week of LEGO building and coding with LEGO® SPIKE™ Prime! Each day starts with a fun mission —like creating a moving Ferris wheel, programming a taxi, or setting an alarm to catch a silly monster! Working in small teams, campers will explore robotics, problem-solving, and creativity as they bring their LEGO creations to life. This hands-on camp builds teamwork, confidence, and STEM skills while keeping the fun front and center!
Palette to Plate (Gr. K-6): Get ready to mix, stir, and create! In this hands-on culinary camp, students will transform into culinary chefs as they learn to create snacks and delicious treats using fresh, simple ingredients. Campers will practice safe kitchen habits, explore everyday tools, and build confidence while having fun crafting tasty creations to enjoy and share!
Sculpt & Shape (Gr. K-6): Get ready to squish, shape, and create! In this hands-on clay workshop, campers will make everything from fun animals to nature-inspired sculptures and pottery. Let your imagination run wild as you build, mold, and bring your clay creations to life!
Glass with Sass ( Gr. K-6): Unleash your creativity and design your own stunning stained glass jewelry. Campers will design their own colorful glass jewelry in this hands-on jewelry making class. Have fun shaping, decorating, designing, creating and soldering your very own, one-of-a-kind jewelry to wear or to gift to someone special. Campers will be using specialized tools.
Bright Bits Mosaics (Gr. K-3): In this hands-on class campers will design and create their own stained glass mosaics using colorful glass pieces, tiles, and other materials to glue and grout a one-of-a-kind mosaic.
Spark & Glass (For Campers in Gr. 4-6): Spark up your imagination! In this beginner stained glass session campers will design and create their own stained glass art, from suncatchers to decorative pieces. Campers will learn safe crafting techniques, use basic tools and will learn to cut, arrange and assemble glass to make their pieces. Campers will learn to cut, grind, foil and solder their glass projects.
Bold Brush Watercolors & Acrylics (K-6): Get ready to dive into the world of colors and creative chaos! Campers will experiment with all kinds of art supplies - watercolor, acrylic and more - while exploring a variety of subjects, styles and mediums. Kick off a painting, mix wild colors and master cool techniques like washes, underpainting and color theory.
Theater Experience (3-6): Step into the spotlight at our Theater Experience Camp, where creativity, confidence, and collaboration take center stage! Designed for budding performers of all levels, this immersive camp introduces students to the exciting world of theater through hands-on activities, professional instruction, and plenty of opportunities to shine. bCampers explore acting, improvisation, movement, voice work, script analysis, and the behind-the-scenes magic of stagecraft. Through interactive workshops and ensemble-building exercises, participants develop essential performance skills while learning to express themselves, work as a team, and bring characters to life. By the end of camp, every student takes the stage in a final showcase performance, celebrating their hard work and newfound talents in front of family and friends. Whether your camper dreams of Broadway or just loves to perform, this camp provides a supportive, fun, and unforgettable theater experience.
Paper Mache Creations (K-6): Get ready to get messy and creative! In this hands-on class, campers will explore the art of paper mâché by transforming simple materials—paper, paste, and imagination—into amazing 3D creations. Campers will learn basic sculpting and layering techniques, build armatures, and decorate their finished projects with paint and mixed media. This class encourages creativity, patience, and problem-solving while allowing each camper to create a unique piece of art to take home. No prior experience needed—just a willingness to have fun and get a little messy!
Dance: (K-6) (Session II, 2nd Slot Only): The basics of Movement and Dance will be the focus of this upbeat and creative dance session! Campers will learn the techniques, terminology, and basics of Ballet, Jazz, and Hip Hop.
Photography (3-6): Say cheese and strike a pose! In this exciting, hands-on photography camp, campers will use tablets to learn how to snap awesome photos. They’ll experiment with light, focus, angles, and composition while exploring fun ways to tell stories through pictures. With plenty of guided practice, campers will build confidence as they capture moments and get creative enhancing their own photos. Best of all, they’ll leave with photos they’ve taken—and edited—themselves! No experience needed, just curiosity, creativity, and a big smile. *This class pairs well with the Digital Scrapbooking class!
